Social marketing for a better world


With a population of 78.5 million, Iran is the most second most populous country in the Middle East (after Egypt). Iran’s economy is growing and it is a member of “Next Eleven” because it has been identified as one of eleven countries with a high potential of becoming the world’s largest economies of the 21st century. Iran is also the eighteenth largest country in the world by purchasing power parity.

DKT sees a business opportunity to provide Iranian women and men with high quality, family health products. Therefore, DKT established a branch office in Iran in 2014 with the goal of providing healthy choices of international quality through the private sector at reasonable prices.

In May 2016, DKT Iran launched its first product, Pregna intrauterine devices (IUDs). And in June 2016, it launched Fiesta condoms, which are manufactured locally to the highest international standards and come in eight variants – classic, dotted, pomegranate, strawberry dotted, full pleasure, delay, energy delay and ice energy delay. Fiesta will target young, middle-class Iranians. This will be followed by a second condom brand targeting low-income Iranians.

DKT Iran will undertake innovative marketing efforts for its products in an effort to reach new consumers. It will introduce new products and technologies to improve the health of women and children, and support expanded access to family health products and services across the country.
