From 1996 to 2009, DKT’s revenues from sales of birth control products increased from $4,532,000 to $58,000,000. During this same period, DKT received between $20 and $25 million in donor support each year. 2005 was a watershed year for DKT because sales income exceeded donor support for the first time.
Over the past seven years, the number of CYPs provided through DKT’s programs has increased from 5.7 million to over 19 million, an average increase of 15 percent per year. DKT has more than tripled its CYPs with the same levels of donor support because of substantial increases in contraceptive sales.
