With a population of 78.5 million, Iran is the second most populous country in the Middle East after Egypt. Iran’s economy is growing rapidly and it is a member of Next Eleven because it has been identified as one of eleven countries with a high potential of becoming the world’s largest economies of the 21st century.
DKT established an office in Iran in 2015 to provide Iranian men and women with high quality and affordable contraceptives through the private sector.
In 2016, DKT Iran launched Pregna intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Fiesta condoms, which are manufactured locally to the highest international standards. Fiesta, which targets young, middle-class Iranians, comes in nine variants – classic, dotted, pomegranate, strawberry dotted, full pleasure, delay, energy delay, ice energy delay and ultra-thin — and 13 stock-keeping units (SKUs). A second condom brand targeting low-income Iranians is on the way.
DKT Iran undertakes innovative marketing efforts for its products in an effort to reach new consumers. It will introduce new products to the private sector, and support expanded access to family health products and services across the country.
In 2017, DKT Iran generated 105,863 CYPs.
