DKT International Doubles FP2030 Commitment to $2 Billion by 2030 amid Global Donor Funding Declines
DKT International, one of the world’s largest providers of sexual and reproductive health products and services, announced today it is doubling its commitment to the Family Planning 2030 (FP2030) partnership, pledging $2 billion in financial support by 2030. This renewed commitment comes at a time of significant reductions in international donor funding for family planning, including the closure of USAID, historically the largest bilateral donor to global reproductive health programs
In 2021, DKT pledged to invest $1 billion in discretionary resources—including the procurement of commodities—and to generate 400 million non-abortion Couple Years Protection (CYPs) across more than 90 countries by 2030. Since then, DKT has delivered $934 million (93% of the original financial goal) and achieved 184.3 million CYPs (46% of the target) in less than four years.
“Family planning programs around the world are facing unprecedented funding constraints,” said Chris Purdy, CEO of DKT International. “By doubling our pledge to $2 billion, DKT is reinforcing its commitment to ensuring that individuals and families continue to have access to affordable and reliable contraception.”
Samukeliso Dube, Executive Director of FP2030, praised DKT’s expanded pledge: “DKT is an innovative champion for family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights. We greatly appreciate their bold, brave, and fearless vision to ensure sexual and reproductive health products and services for all. This type of innovative leadership and commitment is exactly what is needed to unlock the transformative impact of family planning for millions.”
DKT’s expanded pledge underscores the importance of advancing FP2030’s goals during a period of shrinking donor investment. These goals include expanding contraceptive access, strengthening health systems, and ensuring that reproductive rights are recognized and protected. Through its global distribution networks, innovative social marketing campaigns, and ongoing provider and consumer education, DKT is continuing to transform access to family planning products and services in over 90 countries.
