Dear Friend of DKT,
I was in Nigeria last week and had the opportunity to see our work firsthand. This included visiting a DKT partner clinic in Kano, where more than 100 women lined up to receive their method of choice, speaking with pharmacy and drug shop owners on how they counsel young women about emergency contraception, and then smiling at the sight of so many boxes of our condoms, injectables, and misoprostol on the shelves of wholesalers around the country. This was just a small look into the work that DKT teams do every day to meet the needs of Nigerian women and men. I loved it! Experiences like these remind me of why I started this work and why I believe so deeply in our mission and objectives.
I invite you to learn more about this mission by reading our newly released comic book! Hand-drawn by the talented Donald Bason, the comic provides a look into our Nigeria program as well as the work we do globally. The link to the comic is below.

In other news, the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition has released the official 2024 Contraceptive Social Marketing statistics. Started by DKT in the early 1990s, DKT passed this important publication to RHSC last year; we are delighted that so much information is captured there – a testament to the importance of social marketing programs in meeting reproductive health needs.
Read on to see exciting updates about the Phil Harvey Impact Fund, DKT’s Quality Assurance Policy, how we live our DKT values, and more.
Cheers,
Chris Purdy
PS – In case you missed it, our newsletter last week highlights DKT’s presence at the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2025. Please click on the link to learn more. I hope to see many of you there.
Phil Harvey Impact Fund Results
It has been nearly four years since Phil Harvey, DKT’s founder, passed away, but his vision and commitment to increasing choice and empowering individuals continue to guide our work. Through the Phil Harvey Impact Fund—established from Phil’s estate and received in early 2024—each of DKT’s offices received $50,000 to support initiatives that serve the people Phil cared about most: those in vulnerable and underserved communities.
Since then, teams have undertaken impactful work worldwide, from training thousands of providers in Vietnam and Mozambique, to expanding family planning access in Egypt, Nigeria, and Burundi, to responding to humanitarian crises in Turkey and Myanmar—these grants bring Phil’s vision to life. We’re proud to share with you a summary of our team’s efforts worldwide as they use their funds to educate, empower, and expand access, making a lasting difference in communities often overlooked.
Quality Assurance Policy – now on our website
At DKT International, we take product quality seriously. Our risk-based Quality Assurance (QA) approach combines strong partnerships with qualified manufacturers and rigorous compliance, testing, and oversight to ensure that quality is protected from factory to shelf.
As one of the world’s largest distributors of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) products, DKT is committed to upholding the highest standards. Learn more about our Quality Assurance and Commodities Policy on our website.

We don’t just speak our values, we embody them
At DKT, we’re proud to be a modern, forward-thinking organization that prioritizes transparency while pushing boundaries for impact. Our approach combines accountability with creativity, always staying focused on results and rooted in trust, respect, and a healthy dose of fun.
These values come to life through initiatives like Coffee with HR at DKT Pakistan, where colleagues share candid reflections on growth, collaboration, and culture. In a recent session, Sara Mansoor, Legal Manager, spoke about the importance of empathy and non-judgment, emphasizing that accountability and open-mindedness strengthen not only the quality of work but also workplace relationships.

Likewise, Batool Zehra, Ex-Product Manager, reflected on how transparency and teamwork fuel synergy across departments, demonstrating that open dialogue and engagement are key drivers of shared success.
Conversations like these reinforce that our impact is not only about the programs we deliver, but also about the environment we build. By uplifting every voice and fostering a culture of openness and respect, we ensure that ethical standards aren’t just ideals — they are the lived reality of how we work, connect, and grow as a team.
Reaching the masses despite censorship of safe-abortion information
Across the globe, nonprofits like ours are facing increasing censorship online. In Mexico, our official Prudence condom brand Facebook page, a vital space for sex education, reaching 2.5 million people monthly, was recently shut down without explanation. Our affiliate carafem and partners like Women First Digital (WFD) are also navigating these barriers, which restrict access to accurate, stigma-free information on sexual and reproductive health.
WFD is pushing back by ensuring women still have access to resources through platforms like safe2choose, findmymethod, how to use abortion pill, and the Ally chatbot (available on WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Facebook Messenger, and HowToUseAbortionPill.org). They also recently hosted a webinar on how technology both threatens and advances abortion access, and how AI can be used to help increase women’s access to sexual and reproductive health products and knowledge.

In 2024, Women First Digital reached 4.4 million people across their three platforms, including training 4,630 providers on howtouseabortionpill.org and providing real people counseling sessions to 57,000+ clients on safe2choose.org.
Digital censorship works to limit and stigmatize information. The information DKT International puts out is accurate, reliable, and based in fact; we use non-medical, fun, friendly language to talk about sensuality, sex, and safety. Together, we remain committed to making sure people everywhere can access the facts they need to make informed choices.
