Dear Friend of DKT,
I am pleased to share our 2024 sales results and health impact numbers.
Despite ongoing challenges facing reproductive health in 2024, DKT had a record-breaking year, delivering more than 67.3 million Couple Years of Protection (CYPs) across more than 100 countries. We expanded into 34 new markets and launched 61 new products, ensuring increased access to and knowledge about sexual and reproductive health. We continue to be one of the largest providers of contraception and safe abortion products, services, and technology in the world.
Each year, using established health impact calculators, DKT reports out on a range of health impact statistics by country. We measure these results and share the methodology used as part of our commitment to transparency. You can find a detailed list of our health impact results on our website.
In 2024, the collective effort of our work around the world helped avert an estimated:
- 26.3 Million Unintended Pregnancies;
- 18.7 Million Unsafe Abortions;
- 206,100 Infant Deaths; and
- 43,400 Maternal Deaths
These numbers represent the individual stories and lives touched by DKT’s collective impact. They also reflect the hard work of DKT’s global teams in the face of significant challenges.
Our health impact is derived from our reproductive health product sales and distribution results. In the spirit of transparency and communication, DKT lists out all the products we sell by product type and country. A summary of this is provided below and a detailed list can be found on our website here.
DKT continues to fill the gaps left by the absence of the many family planning organizations that benefited from US support. In 2024, DKT procured approximately $140 million in reproductive health commodities – largely with our own sales revenues. And we’re doing what we can to fill gaps; last month DKT launched injectables in Tanzania, and so far this month, DKT teams have begun sales of 1-month injectables in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic (DR), and emergency contraception in Guatemala and the DR.
We take this opportunity to thank the many partners, colleagues, donors, and DKT team members who made these results possible.
We look forward to working with you and your support in 2025.
Cheers,
Chris Purdy

Empowering providers to deliver quality sexual and reproductive healthcare
DKT builds provider capacity to deliver quality care through training, on-the-job mentoring, and medical detailing. In 2024, DKT built up the capacity of approximately 846,680 healthcare providers across the countries we serve. This includes doctors, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy assistants, equipping them with the knowledge to deliver high-quality contraceptive and safe abortion care.
DKT works with healthcare providers to facilitate the provision of clinic services in both the private and public sectors. We deliver high-quality clinical services by supporting network clinics, operating DKT-owned clinic facilities, and partnering with service delivery points to build provider capacity. Countries like Pakistan and Indonesia, where we have the biggest clinic networks, made up 30% of the total providers trained, training 93,783 and 170,107 providers, respectively.
