2014 Seasons Greetings from DKT
Dear Friend of DKT,
Last month I visited our offices in Tanzania and had the pleasure of witnessing our very first sale of a manual vacuum aspiration kit to a small clinic in the Mwanza region. The DKT sales team spoke eloquently about providing choice and affordability to the women and families of the community and the clinic staff needed no further convincing. The sale was especially gratifying because the clinic staff had been unable to provide services up to that time for lack of the proper equipment and products.
This is what I love about DKT – the work we do is visible, measurable, and impactful. As an organization dedicated to providing couples with safe and affordable family planning options through social marketing, our mission is clear.
DKT sales revenues cover a significant percentage of operational costs but we continue to depend on the support of a wide range of institutional and individual donors to cover gaps in our budget and to enable us to take calculated risks – like starting up the new program in Tanzania.
We pride ourselves on our low overhead expenditures- only 2% of our budget is spent on headquarters costs. Even less (.2%) is spent on fundraising.
