DKT Central Africa at a Glance
- DKT operates a regional social marketing program in Central Africa, with operations headquartered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (founded in 2009). DKT launched sales in neighboring Republic of the Congo in 2021 and Burundi in 2024.
- DKT’s flagship product, OK! condoms, were introduced into the market in 2010. Since then, DKT has launched additional variants to promote responsible choices by associating condoms with both pleasure and protection. DKT also offers a range of contraceptive products under the umbrella brand "Aleze." For a full list of products, contact DKT leadership.
- DKT launched Mifepack in the Democratic Republic of the Congo 2019. It was the first registered combipack product in the market.
- The Democratic Republic of Congo's modern contraceptive prevalence rate is only about 21%, and the teen pregnancy rate is high. To engage young people on sexual health issues, DKT DRC created a youth program, Batela Lobi Na Yo (“Protect Your Future”) to inform young people of their contraceptive options.
- DKT trains health providers in every province of the country to provide contraceptive method mix counseling. Training is designed to enable pharmacists and community mobilizers to provide stigma-free counseling to young people without judgement.

DKT’s DR Congo team offers an array of products under the ‘Aleze’ umbrella in Central Africa. The Aleze brand umbrella includes emergency contraception, oral contraception, and injectables.

Mifecare
DKT markets and distributes a medical abortion combination pack under the brand name Mifecare. Mifecare was the first product of its kind registered in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
