Christopher H. Purdy
Chris is the President and CEO of DKT International. From 1996 to 2011, he served as country director of DKT programs in Turkey, Ethiopia and Indonesia, where he managed the largest private social marketing family planning program in the world. He served as executive vice president from 2011 to 2013. He also serves as the CEO of carafem, a network of reproductive health centers serving populations in the USA. He is the author of numerous articles on family planning and social entrepreneurship.
Keri is the Chief Financial Officer and leads DKT’s Global Finance and Accounting function. Keri has over 15 years combined experience in CFO advisory, public accounting and industry experience working in accounting and financial reporting roles for publicly traded companies. She has global working experience, and has worked onsite in Eastern Europe, UK, Asia and South America to assist organizations with post-acquisition finance integration and IPO readiness activities. Keri attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where she earned a bachelor of science in accounting. Keri holds an active CPA license.
Michele is the Administrator and the head of Human Resources. Michele has been with DKT since the 1990s. She handles DKT’s administrative duties and provides support for employees at headquarters and at DKT offices oversees. Michele produces DKT’s annual social marketing statistics report, which compiles contraceptive sales data from the world’s largest social marketing organizations. Prior to joining DKT, Michele worked as an HIV/AIDS counselor and ran her own business. Michele’s passions include traveling, advocating for human rights, and spending time with her extended family and friends.
True is the Senior Program Advisor. He spent two years directing donor-supported projects for DKT Ghana, where he worked on such projects as the No Yawa youth program. True advises DKT’s country offices on how to maximize health impact while achieving financial sustainability. His professional interests include social entrepreneurship and market-based solutions to poverty. During his free time, True enjoys traveling, sports and reading. He is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Virginia.
Ivy is the Corporate Controller. Ivy has more than 20 years of experience in international accounting (having worked globally with operations in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific) and as a public accountant with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Sarbanes Oxley 404 Internal Controls experiences for banking and global operations. She specialized in Banking, Manufacturing, Trading, and Shipping. Ivy engineers DKT’s business process and offers corporate structuring, tax planning, and reporting expertise to the finance team. Previously, Ivy managed a $100 million treasury portfolio and prepared reports for Asset-Liability Committee of a NASDAQ-listed bank. Ivy is a Certified Public Accountant (US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and a Chartered Accountant (International Financial Reporting Standards) in Singapore, and is excited to be working in the non-profit world. In her free time, Ivy enjoys spending time with her family.
Valerie is the Divisional Controller. Prior to DKT, Valerie held the corporate controller role at two national companies. For over 20 years she has managed and consulted for domestic and international non-profit organizations, private sector companies and the United Nations (UN). Valerie has a solid background in operational accounting, streamlining processes, implementing ERP systems and staff development. She is an advocate for women’s rights and enjoys being able to make a real impact in her career.
Carlos is the G/L Accounting and Payroll Manager. Previously, Carlos has been a proprietor of several small businesses in El Salvador, as the office coordinator for Pop Rocks, and worked in the Comptroller’s Office at American University in Washington, DC. He is experienced in all aspects of accounting and handles DKT’s payroll of domestic and international staff and the reconciliation of the general ledger of the DC Headquarters. Carlos has a passion for gourmet cooking and contemporary Latin American music.
Deanne is a Senior Accountant. Deanne has 25 years of extensive experience in accounts payable, billing, grants and contracts, and general ledger accounting. She has worked in the accounting departments at various entertainment and public affairs companies. She has also worked on a number of automated systems. Deanne enjoys spending time with family and friends, and has a passion for cooking, traveling, and music.
Omer is a Senior Accountant. Omer supports the monthly financial closing process which includes management reporting, grant reporting, reviewing accounts payable and analyzing monthly financial activities. In addition, Omer assists with audit preparation and global financial consolidation including foreign currency translation and inter-company eliminations. In his free time, Omer enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and spending time with friends.
Eugene Freeman III
Eugene is the Junior Administrator and Human Resources Associate. He handles a range of administrative needs and provides support for human resource functions. Previously, he served in an administrative capacity for the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, DC-based nonprofit Liberty and Access for All and the WSU Alumni Association. He is a graduate of Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is passionate about social justice issues such as race and gender inequality. During his free time he enjoys cooking, traveling and exploring DC with his dog, Sabine.
Elizabeth is the Program Officer. In 2017, Elizabeth graduated from Carleton College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, with interests in health, the environment and education. During her time in school, Elizabeth participated in sports and taught English as a second language. Elizabeth recently moved from the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys finding new restaurants, farmers markets and art museums in Washington. At DKT, Elizabeth assists with communications, grant management, and new business development.
Margot is the Program Officer, responsible for grant management, administrative, and communication tasks. Margot recently graduated from Carleton College, where she studied sociology and anthropology, with a focus in medical anthropology and women’s studies. While at Carleton, Margot conducted two independent research projects in India- one on the stigmatization of menstruation and another on prenatal care –both of which sparked her interest in reproductive care. Originally from New Jersey, Margot has enjoyed exploring D.C., particularly its waterfront concerts.
